What is a Senior Center?

As you age, day-to-day life changes and these things can be difficult to adjust to. Maybe you recently retired and have too much time on your hands. Maybe you are now living alone and want to be more social? Maybe you want to be more active but aren’t sure where to start? Legacy Link understands these needs and that’s why we fund Senior Centers in 12 North Georgia counties.

What services does a Senior Center provide?

Our multi-purpose centers provide a myriad of services to older adults including:

  • Hot lunch
  • Transportation and trips
  • Social and recreation activities
  • Exercise classes
  • Educational programs
  • Database for senior resources

If you are ready to meet new friends and participate in the many wellness and social activities available to you, visit your local Senior Center today. Click on the links to the right when you find the one closest to you.

Not sure where to begin?

Start with our Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Counselors. Our Trained Intake Specialists practice active listening and empathy to appropriately link individuals with the community resources and programs, so they can age on a firm foundation of health and well-being.

We understand that taking the first step is often the most difficult. The Legacy Link team offers confidential support, including information, referrals, and assistance concerning services for seniors, family members and persons with disabilities.
