What is the Elderly Legal Assistance Program?

Legal fees can be expensive and often older adults on fixed incomes cannot afford the legal consultations and services they need to take care of critical concerns. Adults 60 years or older in North Georgia can benefit from our Elderly Legal Assistance Program, which provides free legal assistance and counseling in matters related to areas of civic law.

What specific areas of law can the Elderly Legal Assistance Program help with?

Our legal consultants can assist with matter including but not limited to:
  • Housing
  • Utility Assistance
  • Wills
  • Advanced Directives
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicare and Medicaid
  • Real and Personal Property
  • Nursing Home Issues
  • Medical Assistance

Not sure where to begin?

Start with our Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Counselors. Our Trained Intake Specialists practice active listening and empathy to appropriately link individuals with the community resources and programs, so they can age on a firm foundation of health and well-being.

We understand that taking the first step is often the most difficult. The Legacy Link team offers confidential support, including information, referrals, and assistance concerning services for seniors, family members and persons with disabilities.
