As the winter months approach, the cold can be more than uncomfortable—it can be dangerous, especially for older adults and individuals with disabilities. At Legacy Link, we are hosting a Holiday Donation Drive to provide winterization kits filled with essentials to help our community stay safe and warm.

What’s in a Winterization Kit?

Each kit will include items carefully selected to meet the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities:

  • Warm blankets – soft, cozy, and easy to handle
  • Thermal socks – to keep feet warm and prevent cold-related health issues
  • Gloves and mittens – easy to put on and remove, designed for dexterity challenges
  • Beanies and hats – to retain body heat during chilly days

Why Your Support Matters

Many older adults and people with disabilities face challenges that make staying warm difficult, from limited mobility to fixed incomes that make heating costs a burden. Your donation can make a meaningful difference by:

  • Reducing the risk of cold-related illness
  • Providing comfort and dignity during the winter season
  • Letting our community members know they are seen, cared for, and supported

How to Participate

  • Donate Items: Bring new or gently used blankets, socks, gloves, and beanies to our drop-off location at 4080 Mundy Mill Road, Oakwood, GA 30566
  • Monetary Gifts: Contributions help us purchase additional items and assemble kits. Donations can be made online at https://legacylink.org/donate/

Together, We Can Keep Our Community Warm

This holiday season, you can make a tangible impact in the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities. Every item, every dollar, and every act of kindness helps someone in our community stay safe, warm, and cared for.
