This year, we are proud to highlight the incredible impact Legacy Link has made in our region by providing essential meals to those in need.

A Remarkable Achievement

In the past year, through partnerships in our region, Legacy Link delivered an astounding 85,859 meals to participants at 11 senior centers. This effort not only nourishes bodies but also builds connection and community among seniors. Each meal represents a moment of care, a chance to gather, and a step toward combating loneliness.

But our commitment doesn’t stop there. Legacy Link also provided 402,454 home-delivered meals to seniors in our 13-county region. This service is crucial for those who may be homebound or unable to access traditional meal services.

Our Core Values in Action

Our commitment is guided by our core values of Advocacy, Character, Teamwork, Empathy, and Diversity. These values drive our mission to support and advocate for older adults and individuals with disabilities to be their link to a better life. Through every meal we deliver and every connection we build, these principles shape our efforts to build stronger, healthier communities.

The Importance of Nutrition

Good nutrition is foundational to healthy aging. Access to nutritious meals helps seniors maintain their health, manage chronic conditions, and enhance their overall quality of life. By providing these meals, Legacy Link not only meets physical needs but also supports mental and emotional well-being.

Community Impact

The impact of our meal programs extends beyond just food. At our senior centers, meals are a reason for seniors to come together, share stories, and build friendships. Home-delivered meals ensure that even those who cannot visit the centers receive the nourishment and companionship they deserve.

Join Us in Making a Difference

As we celebrate our achievements during March, we invite you to join us in this important mission. Here’s how you can help:
• Volunteer: Help deliver meals or assist at a senior center.
• Donate: Your contributions can help us provide even more meals for those in need.
• Advocate: Raise awareness about senior hunger in your community.

Conclusion

Legacy Link is proud of the difference we are making, but we know there is still more work to be done. Together, we can continue to fight food insecurity for older adults and individuals with disabilities and ensure that all seniors have access to the nourishment they need.
